Blush Matrix Neutron Butt Plug Review

Blush Matrix Neutron Butt Plug

When I came across the Blush Matrix Neutron butt plug there were a lot of things about it that made me decide to buy it. It had a base shape I had been wanting to get, and it had an inner ball that promised to move and provide stimulation. I had been in the market for a butt plug with a base that was more comfortable for long term wear, but that was also a bit bigger than my most used plug. I have a glass butt plug that has been my go-to for many years, but its base is not comfy for long term wear, at all.

When I first saw the Blush Anal Adventures Matrix line I was obsessed with the shifting colors, and instantly knew I had to have something from the line. Colors don’t always matter to me but now and again something catches my eye. I really loved the purple and blue ones, and even though the Blush Nebula butt plug ticked off most of my boxes it was smaller than what I wanted, so that’s how I ultimately decided to go with the Blush Matrix Neutron butt plug. Other plugs from the Matrix line have the AncorTech base, but I was really set on trying out the inner ball bearing.

The Blush Matrix Neutron butt plug is a shimmery copper color, made entirely of body-safe silicone. Initially I was more neutral about getting this color, but when it arrived in person and I could see just how much the color tone shifted, and how the copper color has almost a purple undertone hue I was a lot more excited. It stands a total of 4 inches tall, with 3-3.75 inches being insertable, depending on how snugly the base sits against your skin, and it’s 1.5 inches wide at its widest point. Since it has an ovoid shape there isn’t a lot of tapering or graduating size to work with. The tip you will be inserting is only a smidge smaller than the widest section at the middle. The stem, or neck, is much smaller though, so your sphincter muscles will be able to relax a lot once the plug is fully inserted.

I personally have to use a smaller butt plug, or fingers, as warm up before I can insert the Blush Matrix Neutron plug, but this may vary for you depending on your level of anal experience. My advice is to err on the side of caution and warm up with a smaller plug, or fingers, if you’re unsure of what you can handle. Remember when it comes to anal play you should not experience pain. If you’re in pain trying to insert this plug, or any plug, back off and do more warm up, and use more lubricant.

The main question I really had about the Blush Matrix Neutron was would the ball bearing inside really add anything, and if so, how would it feel? During partnered sex the inner ball can be felt thumping and jolting around with every thrust from my partner, or counter thrust of my own, creating a zingy vibration-like feeling. It’s not motor powered vibration, but the sensation of the metal ball rolling back and forth inside the plug creates a rumbling feeling, as if a wizard encapsulated tiny thunder in it. I was instantly very fascinated with this feeling, and surprised by just how good it felt. This is a case of mighty things coming in small packages. It’s not a motor powered toy, and the vibration isn’t traditional but the constant tapping, zingy thunder that this plug provides allows me to actually focus on the sensation better than most anal toys. Normally I have a hard time staying aware of plugs in my ass beyond just a general fullness during penetrative partnered sex, but with this plug the sensation is very distinctive. I can easily feel my partner’s dick inside my pussy, while separately being aware of the Neutron plug and its inner ball thumping around in my butt.

When using the Blush Matrix Neutron outside of sex, or masturbation, I don’t feel the inner ball bearing moving around when doing basic things like walking around or sitting. However, I can feel it during certain yoga positions, or anything that allows the ball to shift more up and down. It is very comfortable for long term wear, even if you’re not getting much use out of the inner ball feature.

See how the color shift makes it look entirely different depending on the angle?

My partner greatly appreciates the base on this plug, as it doesn’t dig uncomfortably into his shaft. My old go-to plug has a wider, more square-shaped base that would press into him while we had sex, creating an uncomfortable pressure. He’s also obsessed with how good the body of Blush Matrix Neutron makes his dick rub against the walls of my pussy because of the wider, more uniform shape. The ovoid shape puts a pressure on his dick, and pushes him against the front wall of my vaginal canal even more, changing the sensation for both of us. I love the fuller feeling this creates, and the extra pressure it puts on my G-spot.

Using the Blush Matrix Neutron butt plug for masturbation and pairing it with vaginal toys creates super delicious stuffed feelings. I have been immensely enjoying pairing this butt plug with my Colours Girth dildo for a nice double stuffed feeling. Every time I clench my vaginal muscles around the dildo the plug and the dildo press against one another, making both holes feel more stretched and filled. Most of my other butt plugs are in the 0.75-1.25 inch range at their widest points, and most have a tapered, or more graduating shape, so they don’t provide the same full feeling. Since the Neutron plug is 1.5 inches at its widest point, and very consistent in shape without any dips, or multi-ball shapes it presses very uniformly inside my ass, and against any toys I use vaginally. This means different muscles get stretched and different erogenous zones are stimulated than with other dildo/plug pairings I’ve used.

The Blush Matrix Neutron can be a little difficult to insert because the neck is flexible, and the point of insertion is rather blunt. The body of the plug is also very firm, so there is no squish or give when inserting it. It’s very similar to inserting a glass or metal plug in terms of firmness, but with a silicone casing that has just a tiny bit more grip than those materials. The method that works best for me is to put a finger on either side of the stem and then just apply slow, steady pressure. Occasionally I will have to adjust my hold because of how slippery the lube makes everything (always use lube when doing anal stuff), but once you practice a few times it becomes easier. Like I said, I do have to warm up to the size of the plug, using a smaller plug, or fingers beforehand. Once the body of the plug is seated fully inside my sphincter muscles can relax a lot, being barely held open by the stem. Since the stem is much narrower than the body of the plug when removing it I have to remove it rather slowly, since it’s a big size jump. Like most butt plugs once you have the widest area out it practically shoots out the rest of the way, which can be a bit uncomfortable if you’re not relaxed enough, so go slow and relax.

The AnchorTech base is everything I hoped it would be. It is narrow and comfortable for long term wear, and I don’t have to worry about it not being anal-safe. It doesn’t dig into my cheeks or get in the way when I want to use a toy vaginally, or have penetrative vaginal sex. The entire anchor base is soft and bendable, so it can be pushed or slid around as needed, too.

Since the stem of the Neutron plug is quite narrow it doesn’t help your sphincters muscles a lot to warm up for bigger toys, or anal sex, unless you continually insert and remove the plug to intentionally stretch these muscles over and over. If you’re more experienced with anal play and sex this may not matter as much for you, but if you’re looking for a plug to specifically help prepare you for bigger insertions, or anal sex you will want to look for something with a wider stem most likely. It’s not that this plug won’t help with preparing for bigger insertions or anal sex at all, if that’s your goal, but if you’re not very experienced with anal sex or play you may not know that a wider stem will be better for stretching the sphincters muscles, too.

If you’re more new to anal play or don’t have very much experience with butt plugs but really want to try out the inner ball bearing I would suggest getting the Blush Matrix Nebula butt plug instead, as it is 1 inch at the widest point. It has the same AnchorTech base, and inner ball bearing structure, just in a smaller size and different color. The Blush Anal Adventures Slim Vibra Small is also the same shape and 1 inch wide, with an inner ball, but comes in black.

If you want a butt plug that can provide extra sensations inside your ass, but isn’t full-on vibration then I believe this is an excellent choice. It provides stimulation inside my ass, while still allowing me to feel stimulation vaginally, or clitorally. It’s easy to use on my own, or during partnered sex, and is comfortable for both parties. It has quickly become one of my most used butt plugs and I am seriously in love with the inner ball design.

Cleaning the Blush Matrix Neutron is simple as it’s entirely waterproof since there’s no motor to be concerned with, and you just need mild soap and water. Since the toy is coated entirely in silicone, stick to using water-based and hybrid lubricants only so you don’t ruin the finish of the toy, and I still suggest spot testing hybrid lubricants on an area of the toy that won’t be put in your body. The reason for this is different hybrid lubricants contain varying amounts of silicone and some still interact badly with silicone toys.
