Tenga 3D Zen Review

The Tenga 3D Zen is the second stroker my partner purchased in the Tenga 3D line, and it’s no secret that his favorite brand thus far is Tenga. My partner currently owns more strokers made by Tenga than any other company and their quality and soft TPE continue to impress him enough to bring him back again and again. It’s not that my partner has never disliked a Tenga model, but more often than not their designs work really well for his specific needs. He was so impressed with his 3D Polygon model that it became his most used stroker and he wanted to try out another texture from the same line.

One of the big benefits of the Tenga 3D line is their discretion. Tenga designed them to have the appearance of sculptures, and unless you know specifically what you’re looking at, they’re not obviously a sex toy. Even when left out in the open, it’s way less likely to be guessed as a sex toy as opposed to something like a pocket pussy style stroker. This is also a benefit for someone who doesn’t want a representational sex toy. Not everyone wants to use a disembodied body part for their masturbation, and that’s okay. For some beginners it can also feel less embarrassing, and more low pressure to purchase a sex toy that doesn’t look like a vulva or a butt. The Tenga 3D Zen is also very quiet in use, basically silent, so if privacy is a concern for you this is a great option all around.

As with all Tenga 3D strokers the 3D Zen is meant to be inverted for use, so the texture is on the inside. The Zen has a texture that looks like it may be rather subtle in appearance, tightly spaced ribbing wrapped around the sleeve, creating a gentle spiral effect. Unlike the actual 3D Spiral model it doesn’t have raised sections, but it does feature an off-center texture as opposed to something completely horizontal or vertical. My partner has used other strokers with spiral effects that are supposed to create the sensations of that movement and they didn’t really live up to the hype for him, but with the Tenga 3D Zen those sensations come through clearly. My partner does have a more sensitive foreskin and frenulum so how strokers feel for other people will obviously vary, but for him, the 3D Zen can feel rather intense, but

not painful.

The Tenga 3D line holds lube really well so far, in his experience. When the models are inverted they create a tighter ring around the base, keeping lubricant from being able to just ooze out. The tighter ring and closed-end design also keep too much air from constantly entering the toy, drying out the lubricant. If my partner hasn’t used enough lubricant with the 3D Zen then the texture can become a bit too intense and become uncomfortable, so proper amounts of lubricant are definitely important. The grooves between the ribs are excellent for holding lubricant, and my partner said it’s superior in this department to his Tenga 3D Polygon, since there aren’t any pockets for lube to cling to in that design. Tenga includes a sachet of their “Hole Lotion” lubricant to try out with this stroker, but be sure to read the ingredients list to make sure you don’t have any sensitivities. Also please remember “Hole Lotion” lubricant is not vaginal-safe.

The adjustability of how tight or loose the 3D Zen feels in use is very easy to customize because you can either keep a lot of air inside, or squeeze all of the air out. For a rather intense experience my partner can squeeze all of the air out, and for longer edging sessions he can keep some air near the head to keep things a bit more subtle. Overall he prefers close-end toys because of this ability, and the fact they don’t allow lube to dry out. He says the toy feels fairly average in terms of tightness, but that adjustability factor does make a difference in that department. The TPE material Tenga uses for the 3D line is incredibly soft, pliable, and stretchy, so even though my partner’s dick is thicker than average these strokers don’t give him any issues with fit.

Between the Tenga 3D Zen and the 3D Polygon my partner says the Zen is the more intense model because the Polygon felt rather subtle in texture. While both models can be changed in tightness intensity by adjusting the air inside, the Zen has a more stimulating texture than the Polygon for him.

The 3D Zen is his most used stroker because he loves to edge and masturbate for a few hours at a time, and the Zen’s material is soft enough to not irritate him during use, and stimulating enough to be felt hour after hour. He will sometimes start out using a different stroker and then change to the Zen so his dick doesn’t get irritated from a stroker that has a more varied internal texture, or slightly stiffer material. The 3D line holds up impressively well and the Zen shows no signs of wearing out anytime soon, even with very long, and frequent masturbation sessions.

Washing and cleaning the Tenga 3D Zen is fairly straightforward and easy, as it can be flipped both right-side and inside out for optimal cleaning and drying. Do make sure you use enough pressure and wash thoroughly to get all body fluids and lube out of the tightly spaced ribs, as they like to hold onto fluid. To remove body fluids and lubricant from your toy even easier, start out using cool water. Once as much of everything is as rinsed away as you can get it, use a mild, unscented soap and warm water over the entire toy, and rinse well. The 3D line comes with a case and stand that doubles as a drying rack but I seriously suggest drying your toys off as much as you can with a lint free cloth, or a drying rod, because TPE is a porous material and if it doesn’t dry your toy can become mildewed or moldy. Allow the toy to finish air drying on the drying stand before you close it up for storage.

As TPE/TPR is porous it cannot be fully sanitized, so it’s very essential you wash and dry your strokers promptly after use. If you use them during a time you have an infection they need to be disposed of. Also if they develop any odd smells, discoloration, or spots it’s time to throw away and replace.

TPE is not vaginal safe as it can harbor bacteria that leads to infection.

I do not have a penis, so all penis toy opinions come from my current partner. The reviews are written by me, based on the thoughts and opinions of myself and my partner.
